OUR 60TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Photos and report:  Chris Harten

Our 60th Annual General Meeting took place on December 13th, when we welcomed members and visitors to our last meeting of the year.  On arrival, we were treated to a glass of delicious Christmas punch to warm us up on what was a freezing cold day! Our Chairman Lesley Vanezis conducted the AGM, at which Lesley was proposed as an Honorary Member, and also presented with a gift as she is standing down after three years as our Chairman. Committee member Angela Harvey will be our new Chairman in 2019.  It was also Lesley’s birthday, and she was presented with a lovely birthday cake and a round of “Happy Birthday” from those present!  Following the AGM, the trophies for the most points in the Flower Arranging and Flower of the Month Competitions were awarded (see left for the results).  Following the trophy awards, we had entertainment from The Poppy Sisters, although only Rose was able to come because sadly, Nancy was suffering from tonsillitis. Rose did a great job though, treating us to songs from yesteryear which got our toes tapping and our hands clapping! Afterwards, we all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas buffet before heading home.  A few photos of the afternoon can be seen in the slideshow below.

Everyone is welcome, so come and join us for a lovely afternoon of flowers and fun - members 2.50, visitors 6.00 on the door.  In the meantime, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year, and look forward to seeing you all in 2019!
