This month, we welcomed 44 members and 16 visitors to our first demonstration of the year, “Paradise is a Garden”, by National Demonstrator Tony Brown, from Leicestershire. Tony has been to us twice before, the first time in 2008, and again in 2010, so we knew we were going to have a very entertaining afternoon!  He gave us a wonderful demonstration, making nine beautiful arrangements which were raffled at the end of the afternoon.

This month we also awarded the yearly trophies for the competitions:

Flower Arranging Competition:

Advanced Class - Joint 1st Jean Govier and Jean Ward (The Linda Hoggett Trophy)

Intermediate Class - Maureen Westwood (The Alan Hoggett Trophy)  Maureen moves up to the Advanced class.

Novice Class - Joy Mason (The C J Cadbury Trophy).

Joy moves up to the Intermediate class.

Flower of the Month Competition:

2nd - Maureen Westwood (The Critchley Cup)

3rd - Betty Oakley (The Novice Cup)
